Volunteers of America Chesapeake & Carolinas is thrilled to announce the appointment of Lisa Snider as the new Vice President for VA/DC. With over 25 years of experience in the Behavioral Health and Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities field, Lisa brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to our organization.
Having lived and worked in the Virginia region for the past 20 years, Lisa’s background spans various sectors, including local and state government, nonprofit community mental health, and developmental disability service providers. Her extensive experience includes leadership roles in early intervention services for infants and toddlers, as well as oversight of group home, supervised living, in-home, day support, psychosocial rehabilitation, and employment assistant programs for adults living with developmental disabilities or serious mental illness.
Lisa holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from the University of Texas at Arlington and a Master of Science in Sociology from North Carolina State University. She is Certified in Health Care Compliance and Health Care Privacy Compliance and is a registered Qualified Mental Health Professional. Lisa has also been actively involved in regional and statewide committees and workgroups, addressing legislative concerns, quality improvement initiatives, and service delivery issues. Outside of work, Lisa enjoys college football and basketball, reading mysteries, and spending time with her family, including her two nephews.
