Scripture Reading:
Psalm 112:7 – “He will have no fear of bad news; his heart is steadfast, trusting in the Lord.”
Reflection:
What is the sense of worrying in our world today? Anxiety has a life of its own and can really change our attitude and mindset in a negative way. You read the news about the political transition happening right now and you want to just throw up your hands….or we go through challenges that do not make any sense, and our mind and actions go into protection mode and we lose sleep and precious time with the more important things in life. The Psalmist had it right in the scripture above…we should not be consumed with any “bad news” particularly if we place our trust in God above all challenges or concerns.
God rejoices when we turn our minds and prayers toward Him. He guards our thoughts and prayers, and we must focus on good thought choices which will keep us close to God and he in turn will provide us peace, answers to our questions and affirmation that we will be fine – even with the turmoil of the world around us is so prominent and distracting.
My prayer for you this week is that you recognize that with God, anything is possible and that you give your 100% trust in Him throughout your days ahead, even when the world around you is spinning out of control.
