WEEKLY DEVOTION– Volume 25:1- Week of January 5, 2025

Scripture Reading:

Isaiah 40:31 – “Those who wait on the Lord will find new strength.”

Reflection:

Happy New Year!!  As we begin 2025, I wanted to find a scripture that focused on our hope in a new year that is filled with joy, peace, health, and love throughout our lives.  Hope is not feasible unless God is at the center of our thinking and in our hearts and the scripture above communicates to us that we must “wait on the Lord” to accomplish our goals and see our new years resolutions come true.  Without God, we will not be successful in overcoming all the challenges that are likely to be in front of us for 2025.  This year will be a year of transition for Volunteers of America Chesapeake & Carolinas (VOACC) but with the hope in God, our affiliate will not only survive the transitions that will occur but will find success and peace through the changes.  I personally will be stepping away from the CEO role that I have been honored to occupy for the past 16 years and my hope is that God will point me in a new direction that will help people and families in my community as well as help God’s Kingdom here on earth.  This year – 2025 – is a year of hope and trust in God for VOACC and for many of us.  Seeking the Lord and waiting on His answer is a promise that God gives us freely.

My prayer for you is that you trust in God during 2025 and that the hope in realizing your goals and dreams for the year are divinely realized.
