QuQu Smith is a Greensboro-based music educator, vocalist, and nonprofit founder whose life and career are rooted in the transformative power of music. Having experienced homelessness, instability, and depression as a child, QuQu found hope and direction through music education and the mentors who believed in her. Those experiences now fuel her mission-driven work.
With over eight years of experience teaching music education, music technology, and business education, QuQu founded Que the Music Performing Arts Academy to provide access, exposure, and opportunity to youth who may not otherwise have it. Under her leadership, students have performed at Carnegie Hall, the Steven Tanger Center, and alongside nationally recognized gospel artists, while others have earned college scholarships or pursued professional performance careers.
As a performer, QuQu uses her voice to inspire, uplift, and tell stories that resonate with authenticity and purpose. Whether on stage or in the classroom, she is committed to creating spaces where young people feel seen, supported, and empowered to dream beyond their circumstances.
