Neisha Himes

Neisha Christine Himes is an award-winning and nationally recognized activist, motivational speaker, and advocate for domestic violence survivors. After enduring and overcoming a five-year abusive relationship, Neisha began sharing her story through spoken word poetry, using her talent to bring awareness to the realities of domestic violence. In August 2016, she founded G.R.O.W. (Girls Recognizing Our Worth) Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to assisting survivors in rebuilding their lives after abuse.

To deepen her impact and understanding of victims’ rights, Neisha served as a Victim Advocate for the Norfolk Commonwealth Attorney’s Office. She later joined the Newport News Police Department as their Domestic Violence Outreach Liaison, where she played an instrumental role in inspiring and helping create the agency’s first Domestic Violence Unit.

A certified Advanced-Level Advocate by the National Advocate Credentialing Program (NACP), Neisha has received numerous accolades for her relentless activism and advocacy work. Her honors include the “Inspire A Difference—Hero of the Month” Award from Investigation Discovery, the “Voices In Action—Survivor Activist” Award from the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence, and the “Survivor of the Year” Award from DomesticShelters.org.

To broaden her efforts, Neisha founded Neisha Christine Consulting, LLC (dba Neisha’s Voice). Through this platform, she provides tailored domestic violence education, training, program development consulting, and public motivational speaking. Her mission is driven by an unyielding passion to end domestic violence and her personal motto: “I will NOT shut up!”

Neisha’s unwavering dedication to empowering survivors and creating systemic change continues to inspire and transform lives, making her a powerful force in the fight against domestic violence.
