Director of Operations for the Virginia Regions & DC I/DD Programs
As the Director of Operations for the Virginia region and DC I/DD programs, Tomeka Magagula is responsible for providing leadership and execution that supports and promotes the strategic direction of the region and programs under her purview.
Magagula has worked with VOA Chesapeake & Carolinas for over 18 years. She served as the Senior Program Director for the Prince George’s Behavioral Health for 12 years and later served as the Clinical Quality Assurance/Rehabilitation Director for all of the behavioral health and housing programs within the Maryland and District of Columbia regions. Magagula later transitioned into the role of Organizational Learning Manager at which time she was responsible for coordination and oversight of training initiatives, regulatory compliance, and accreditation efforts across the affiliate.
Magagula previously served as an active member of the Prince George’s County Mental Health Advisory Committee for over ten years and was the Director of another behavioral health program within Prince George’s County, MD.
Magagula earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Salisbury University, her Master’s of Education from Bowie State University and is fully and independently licensed to provide professional counseling in Maryland, the District of Columbia, and Virginia. She has over 25 years of behavioral health experience including residential services, rehabilitative services, case management, out-patient behavioral services, and peer-operated services.
