Executive Director of Information Technology
Sharita Williams serves as the Executive Director of Information Technology at Volunteers of America Chesapeake & Carolinas (VOACC). In this role, she leads the organization’s information technology strategy, systems, and operations, ensuring technology effectively supports VOACC’s mission-driven work across housing, health, and human services.
Sharita brings more than 15 years of experience in information technology operations, infrastructure, and security, with a strong focus on leveraging technology to strengthen organizational impact. She joins VOACC after serving as a fractional Chief Technology Officer, where she partnered with mission-driven organizations to develop IT strategy, improve operational efficiency, and align technology with long-term goals.
Previously, Sharita served as IT Director at Community of Hope DC, where she led transformative technology initiatives that advanced patient care and operational excellence. In this role, she oversaw Electronic Health Record systems administration, ensuring reliability, security, and compliance for mission-critical data and operations. She also introduced artificial intelligence-powered analytics and workflow automation tools that streamlined processes, improved real-time decision-making, and reduced administrative burden across departments.
At VOACC, Sharita oversees the Information Technology Services Department, including Electronic Health Records systems administration. Sharita is committed to building secure, efficient, and people-centered technology systems that empower staff and strengthen service delivery across the organization.
