Executive Director of Revenue Cycle Management
Christine Lewis-Taylor serves as the Revenue Cycle Executive Director at Volunteers of America Chesapeake & Carolinas, bringing more than 25 years of experience in healthcare, including acute care hospitals and, for the past five years, behavioral and mental health. She oversees end-to-end revenue cycle management, including charge capture, coding integrity, claims processing, denial management, and patient financial services while championing compliance, patient access, and seamless collaboration between clinical and financial teams. Her work emphasizes accurate billing, timely cash flow, and the alignment of financial processes with high-quality patient care.
Over the last five years, Lewis-Taylor has led behavioral health revenue cycle initiatives that significantly improved cash collections and accounts receivable performance. She has spearheaded modernization efforts by standardizing denial management, introducing automation and analytics, and strengthening payer partnerships. Her leadership has optimized coding accuracy, streamlined escalation and exception workflows, and ensured efficient, compliant billing across behavioral health programs. Lewis-Taylor has also guided major system implementations and process redesigns to reduce cycle times and improve first-pass yield.
A data-driven and collaborative leader, Lewis-Taylor builds and mentors high-performing teams, establishes transparent governance structures, and creates performance dashboards that enable rapid, informed decision-making. Lewis-Taylor holds an Associate Degree in Accounting and a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management. She is also an active member of the Maryland Hospital Association (MHA) and the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA).
