Director of Operations for the DC & Maryland Regions

As Director of Operations for the District of Columbia and Maryland Regions, Joseph “Joe” Martinez-Williams oversees the regions’ compliance, quality assurance plan, and organization’s compliance directives/concerns with oversight agencies. Martinez was first introduced into the behavioral health field in 2013 as a Community Support Worker at Community Connections providing direct services to clients living with trauma, substance abuse, behavioral health challenges, and homelessness. He quickly transitioned into the role of a Team Manager/Clinical Supervisor on one of the Assertive Community Treatment teams. It was at Community Connections where he honed his clinical skills and fine-tuned his leadership qualities. With his newfound clinical knowledge and licensure as an LPC, he began the next phase of his professional career at Pathways to Housing as a Clinical Supervisor. While at Pathways to Housing, Martinez advanced through several promotions on his road to becoming the Director of Quality Improvement and Entitlement Program Operations. In this role, he was responsible for the oversight and operations of the Facilities, Information Technology, Quality Improvement, and the Office Management departments.

Martinez is a graduate of the Chicago School of Professional Psychology holding a Master’s of Arts in Forensic Psychology. He is also a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the District of Columbia. He has worked in the behavioral health arena for almost 10 years. While Marinez has a general affinity for helping all populations, his real passion lies in working with survivors of domestic violence and trauma. Throughout his professional career, Joe has prioritized staff growth and development. Under his guidance and mentorship, six individuals have been promoted to supervisory roles and positions.

Martinez is a husband of 11 years to Christina and a father of two little girls, Kaileileia (8) and Xariya (7). When he’s not working or spending time with his family and traveling, he enjoys riding/working on one of his three motorcycles, reading, and writing Fiction books.
