Entry Point Durham is not a housing program and cannot promise shelter or housing. Entry Point will work with you to help resolve your housing crisis and will refer you to shelter or housing programs if they will be helpful and are available.
Intake Hours & Locations
If you’re seeking shelter, go to Aging and Adult Services and ask about Entry Point (coordinated entry) intake at Durham DSS 414 E. Main Street (second floor in Lobby 27 or Coordinated Entry Office on 1st floor) from 8:30 am to 5:00pm or call the intake line at 984-287-8313.

Frequently Asked Questions
Yes. Entry Point Durham will help you will work with you to help resolve your housing crisis. Emergency shelter beds are not always available but going to Entry Point is the only way to access shelter at Urban Ministries of Durham and Families Moving Forward.
Entry Point is a new program to help people facing homelessness resolve their housing crisis. Entry Point is not a DSS program, but DSS programs might refer you to Entry Point. Entry Point is connected to the homeless service provider network in Durham.
Entry Point will work with you to help resolve your housing crisis and will refer you to housing programs in Durham if they will be helpful. Although Entry Point is in the Human Services Building during the day Monday through Friday, you can also go to the Exchange Building at 801 Gilbert Street on evenings, weekends, and county holidays.
The Human Services Building in Durham also includes other resources besides DSS, such as health care resources and Veteran resources.
You can access Entry Point in other ways too. You can call 984-287-8313 and do an intake and assessment without coming to DSS Building. The hours of operation for the phone line are 8:30am to 8pm Monday thru Friday.
