Celso Yanes

Celso was struggling with alcohol use when he came to VOACC. He was not happy with the direction his life was going, especially after losing his job.

Givers of hope like you helped to properly diagnose Celso with Schizoaffective Disorder and Depression, get him the support he needed, and help him recover from his addiction.Celso has said that he doesn’t know what he would have done without VOACC.

Today, Celso is doing much better. He is in school studying to become a certified counselor and has already started to give back to VOACC by serving on a Peer Support Advisory Committee.

“If I wasn’t in this program, I honestly don’t know where I would be. [I would] probably be in the streets begging for food, shelter. I don’t think I would ever be where I am now.”
