Operation Backpack

Operation Backpack®  is our initiative to fill in the gap for our region’s most vulnerable children. Through August 14, 2026, your donations will help provide brand-new backpacks and school supplies to the children from income-constrained families in our housing, health and human services programs across the District of Columbia, Maryland, Virginia and North Carolina.

We know that it takes more than supplies for kids and young adults to have the support they need to do well in school. That’s why Operation Backpack® also raises funds to address other barriers to long-term success including academic enrichment opportunities, computers, school uniforms, grocery store gift cards and gas cards. Together, we can help ensure these children achieve success despite their circumstances.
