Vice President of Organizational Excellence 

Cyndi Thompson serves as the Vice President of Organizational Excellence at Volunteers of America Chesapeake & Carolinas. In this role, she leads the Organizational Excellence department, driving innovation and capacity-building strategies that advance VOACC’s mission. Cyndi oversees quality assurance, data and analytics, and organizational development, ensuring that programs meet the highest standards of excellence and align with The VOA Way. 

With more than 25 years of experience in behavioral health, recovery services, and organizational leadership, Cyndi has built a career dedicated to operational integrity and compassionate care. Before joining VOACC in 2020, she held leadership roles across Pennsylvania and North Carolina, including CEO of Turning Point Treatment Center and Regional Director for Acadia Healthcare. Since joining VOACC, Cyndi has strengthened program compliance, accreditation, and continuous quality improvement across multiple regions. 

Cyndi earned her Master’s in Educational Psychology and Bachelor’s in Sociology with a minor in Criminal Justice from Edinboro University. She is a commissioned VOA Minister, an active member of VOACC’s Ministry Team, and a graduate of both the affiliate and mid-level KeyMakers programs. Her leadership continues to shape VOACC’s commitment to continuous quality improvement, evidence-based practices, and professional development for staff across the organization.
