5 Weeks of Giving

Dr. Sharon Jones-Eversley, Chairman of the Board of Directors for Volunteers of America Chesapeake and Associate Professor, Towson University, Shares her view on giving:
To me, giving is like oxygen, and it has the instant capacity to literally pump hope, strength and unconditional love into the heart, lungs and being of a fellow woman, man, boy or girl who feels lost and alone.
In other words, giving is a real and tangible way to provide encouragement. By giving, we encourage someone else in a nonjudgmental way to hope and move forward!!!
I love the way the Message Bible states Luke 6:37-38
“Don’t pick on people, jump on their failures, criticize their faults—unless, of course, you want the same treatment. Don’t condemn those who are down; that hardness can boomerang. Be easy on people; you’ll find life a lot easier. Give away your life; you’ll find life given back, but not merely given back—given back with bonus and blessing. Giving, not getting, is the way. Generosity begets generosity.” (biblegateway.com)
During Volunteers of America Chesapeake’s Five Weeks of Giving, thank you for your generosity to provide life-giving spiritual oxygen to those in need.
