RPC Volunteer Opportunities

Current Volunteer Opportunities:

  1. Food Delivery: Currently we receive morning and evening food donations from Starbucks, Chipotle, and Panera Bread. If you have mornings or evenings free, please consider helping to pick up these food donations and dropping them off at the RPC. All food locations are in Arlington!
  1. Opportunities Working “Behind the Scenes” at RPC: We welcome people who can provide assistance such as helping with mass mailings, organizing our donations closet, helping with filing, going through donations from the community, etc. As little as an hour a week will go a long way!
  1. Friends of RPC: We are also looking for people to be Friends of RPC, to be called upon when some special assistance is needed for any of our annual events and fundraisers. We always need assistance with our yearly event, Harvest for Hope, which is held in the Fall.
  1. Toiletry Drive: We are always looking for help from volunteers to host a toiletry drive; or at RPC, we need volunteers to help sort the donations and make the welcome bags for our clients.

  1. Snack Food Drive: To supplement the meals we give to clients we always need individually wrapped snacks, like crackers/cereal bars/chips/cookies/raisins. Please consider buying some in bulk and donating them to RPC or conducting a Snack Drive.
  1. Mentoring/Adopt-a-Resident: We are looking for volunteers to help individual residents in our shelter with resume editing, interviewing skills, budgeting tips, and other services that would help them on the road to independence. This can also include meeting and offering support and encouragement. After meeting with each other for a few times, this can be done by phone if that works better.
  1. Food Drive:
    1. Consider providing breakfast, lunch, and/or dinner for our residents for a day.
    2. Consider providing breakfast, lunch, or dinner for our residents for a week (Monday-Friday)
  1. Service Day Opportunities: Landscaping, Painting, and Facility Cleanup are a few opportunities to engage the residents at our facilities.
  1. Former Residents: We have events focusing on former residents of our programs as well. If you are interested in decorating a former resident’s apartment, helping a resident move from the shelter to their own home, or helping to furnish a resident’s home, we would welcome your support!
