ABOUT MAPLE COURT
Here at Volunteers of America Chesapeake & Carolinas, we are committed to ensuring that those who served our country can live their lives with the dignity and independence they deserve. Since 2009, Maple Court has made a measurable impact on the homeless veteran population by providing transitional housing and supportive services to veterans in need. We offer two transitional housing tracks based on the needs of each veteran. The Bridge to Housing track serves those struggling to find housing and maintain a steady income. The Hospital to Home track is designed to address the needs of homeless veterans who live with substance use disorders and would otherwise remain hospitalized longer than necessary.

In 2018, our Bridge to Housing program served 44 vulnerable veterans, 94 percent of which have successfully transitioned into permanent living arrangements. We also supported 10 veterans through our Hospital to Home program, 80 percent of which successfully found permanent housing. Thanks to the generosity of the Home Depot Foundation, we can continue to be a beacon of hope for our veterans in need throughout the Durham area.
