Loudoun Cold Weather Shelter
This program operates every year from 11/15-3-31. The goal of CWS is to provide a warm, safe sleeping environment for anyone experiencing homelessness during these months. This program runs from 9pm-7am each evening providing case managements supports, mental health services and resources needed to move clients from homelessness to housing.
FY 2016 100 unduplicated individuals accessed Cold Weather Shelter through VOAC's program for at least one night during the season. Participating guests included men and women over the age of 18. VOA partnered with over 32 faith communities and individuals to provide food and fellowship of our most vulnerable neighbors. Through this partnership, VOAC offered 3 meals a day to our CWS guests for 137 days totaling 41,100 meals to those most in need.
