When COVID-19 hit, Clinton (42) was without stable housing and a full-time job. A veteran of the U.S. Air Force and father of two toddlers and a teenager, Clinton was desperate to find full-time employment and training opportunities to advance his career.
In early April, Clinton found his way to Volunteers of America and was referred to our Homeless Veterans Reintegration Program (HVRP) and Supportive Services for Veterans Families (SSVF) programs. Our staff provided the laptop and materials Clinton needed to enroll in a certification course to help him advance his career goals. In addition to connecting Clinton to job opportunities, we also made sure he was dressed to impress for interviews and had gas money to attend them.
After just a couple of weeks of searching, Clinton was offered a full-time job in warehousing and logistics at DHL. Over the coming weeks, our staff will continue to help Clinton meet his short-term and long-term goals.
