A Holistic Approach to Mitigating Homelessness

About

In Loudoun, VA, we offer a multifaceted program that provides extensive services to prevent, support and help to end homelessness. The primary goals are to assist households from homelessness to permanent housing and prevent at-risk households from becoming homeless. Program staff utilizes evidence-based practices such as Trauma Informed Care, Motivational Interviewing, Housing First approaches and low-barrier programming to motivate, empower and support households experiencing homelessness.

Eligibility

Through Loudoun’s Coordinated Entry System, households are first assessed for eligibility and must meet at least one of the following criteria:

  • Individuals and families who lack a fixed, regular, and adequate nighttime residence including those residing in a shelter or a place not meant for human habitation and those exiting an institution where they resided temporarily.
  • Individuals and families who will imminently lose their primary nighttime residence
  • Individuals and families who are fleeing or attempting to flee domestic violence

Services Provided

Rapid Rehousing

We operate this program with Virginia Homeless Solutions Program, an entity of the Virginia Department of Housing and Community Development. This program provides financial and case management resources to households that are literally homeless. We work with local landlords to quickly move eligible households into permanent housing while providing case management and other supportive services to ensure housing stability.
